When print shops, bookbinders or packaging producers offer their products as climate-neutral, they can be marked with the myclimate label “climate-neutral printed matter” or “climate-neutral product”.
Julian Meitanis, who runs this project at myclimate, recently explained in an interview the advantages of this label. He says that corporate sustainability efforts have become increasingly more important for customers, and this includes corresponding communications.
By taking action to protect the climate, companies could appeal to new customer groups. Not only would their efforts conserve resources and improve their CO2 footprint, they could also boost profitability. In this respect, Meitanis identifies business potential in climate protection as well as in cooperating with myclimate.
The programme, which has been running since 2009, looks for solutions together with companies from the graphics industry to improve climate protection and sustainability.
