Frost & Sullivan honoured the Swiss manufacturer of smart metering solutions with two awards: the 2016 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Technology Leadership and the 2016 Global Company of the Year Award. The awards were based on Foster & Sullivan’s recent analysis of the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) market. According to a Landis+Gyr statement, its dominance of the AMI market is due to its strong R&D culture, technology development and intellectual property.
“Landis+Gyr is transforming the way energy is delivered by solving the complex problems utilities face today,” said Frost & Sullivan Senior Industry Analyst Gautham Gnanajothi. “Utility business models are rapidly changing, and AMI functionality is a key enabler. From devices to network solutions and services, Landis+Gyr stands at the forefront of these dynamics.”
Landis+Gyr has a customer base of more than 7,000 utilities and an installed meter base of over 300 million installations — the industry’s largest. Last year it secured important project deals around the world and is enjoying substantial success in North America, Latin America, Europe and AsiaPacific. With its growth from a metering business to a full-solution provider, Landis+Gyr has gained the experience needed to empower utilities and end customers to improve their energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.
