SHIFT Zurich has been held every two years since 2012, previously under the name Biomimicry Zurich. It brings together leading experts from the field of bio-inspired innovation and the financial sector and creates a joint platform for stakeholders from biology, engineering and finance.
This year’s conference will be held on 25 and 26 August. The first day will be held under the motto In the Green and will take place in nature where participants will be presented two case studies in and around the Sorrel Hotel Zürichberg.
One of the case studies looks at Innovation 4.4 with the new NASA Planetary and Human Sustainability Innovation Center in Mountain View, California. The second case study will focus on the BOB/Bioinspired Office Building. Lunch will be held at the Elephant Park at the Zurich Zoo, which is one of the conference’s organisers.
The second day will take place in the Marriott Hotel in downtown Zurich with three panel sessions focusing on industry, architecture and finance.
In addition to the business association swisscleantch and the Zurich Zoo, the other conference partners including the LIFE Klimastiftung in Vaduz, Biokon and the Wyss Institute in Boston. The organising committee consists of Christian Häuselmann from swisscleantech, Alain Schilli from Magnefico and Carl Ziegler from T-LINK.
